Overview

KORLOY SCLCR/L 系列实心钢柄镗杆

The KORLOY SCLCR/L series is a range of solid steel shank indexable boring bars for internal (ID) turning on CNC lathes and turning centres. Each bar holds a positive 80 degree rhombic insert with a 7 degree clearance angle in a screw-on clamp seat, cutting at a 95 degree approach angle. That combination keeps cutting forces low and chip evacuation clean, which is what a slender boring bar needs most.

Two models are offered in this range: S08K-SCLCR-06 with an 8 mm shank for bores from 10 mm, and S10H-SCLCR-0306 with a 10 mm shank for bores from just 6 mm.

Key Features
  • Solid steel shank - high rigidity for internal boring, with good resistance to the vibration that builds up as bar overhang increases.
  • Screw-on clamp - a single screw and one wrench for insert indexing. Fast, repeatable and easy to replace on the shop floor.
  • 95 degree approach angle - lets one bar handle internal boring and internal facing without changing tools.
  • Positive insert, 7 degree clearance - low cutting forces, the right choice for small-diameter bars working in restricted bore space.
  • Wide insert compatibility - takes CCMT, CCGT, CCGW, CCET and CCHT inserts of the matching size.
  • Compact mini design - S10H-SCLCR-0306 reaches down to a 6 mm minimum bore diameter, and the reach-to-shank ratio is generous for such a small bar.
  • Right and left hand - right-hand shown; left-hand equivalents are available (S08K-SCLCL-06, S10H-SCLCL-0306).

Model Code Breakdown

Take S10H-SCLCR-0306 as an example:

  • S - steel shank (carbide shank equivalents use the prefix E)
  • 10 - shank diameter, 10 mm
  • H - shank length code; H = 100 mm, K = 125 mm (other letters run F = 80, G = 90, J = 110, M = 150)
  • SCLCR - ISO holder code: S = screw-on clamp, C = 80 degree rhombic positive insert, C = 7 degree clearance angle, R = right hand
  • 0306 - insert size code. Within this mini series the last two digits match the minimum bore diameter: 0305 = 5 mm, 0306 = 6 mm, 0407 = 7 mm, 0408 = 8 mm.

So S10H-SCLCR-0306 reads as: steel shank, 10 mm diameter, 100 mm long, screw-on clamp for a 7 degree clearance 80 degree rhombic insert, right hand, minimum bore 6 mm.

Insert Compatibility

All insert styles listed above share the same 80 degree rhombic shape and 7 degree clearance angle. They differ in tolerance class and hole/edge form - CCMT and CCGT are the ones most commonly stocked, with CCGT (peripherally ground) preferred where surface finish matters.

Choose the grade by workpiece material, not by the bar. The bar sets the geometry; the insert grade sets what you can cut and how fast. Where It Is Used
  • Internal boring, internal facing and internal profiling
  • Small-diameter bores where a standard boring bar will not fit
  • CNC lathes and turning centres
  • Finishing and light roughing passes in internal work
  • Bores from 6 mm (S10H-SCLCR-0306) or 10 mm (S08K-SCLCR-06) upward
Setup Notes
  • Clamp a minimum of one third of the bar length in the tool holder for best rigidity.
  • Check the minimum bore diameter before ordering - the two models are far apart on this: 10 mm vs 6 mm.
  • Note the counter-intuitive point: the 10 mm shank bar bores a smaller hole (6 mm) than the 8 mm shank bar (10 mm), because it uses the smaller 03-size insert. Choose by bore size first, then by bar rigidity.
  • For deep bores, step up to the longest shank that still fits the bore - here that is the S08K at 125 mm overall.
Ordering
